The Crocodile is an animal synonymises with Australia so when I was shown the Crocobiner Multi-Tool in the shape of one I had to say yes to a review so I could get my hands on one. The Crocobiner is the concept and innovation of Tsvet, he has now started his own Kickstarter page to fund to get the Crocobiner into production.

At the time of this writing he has 14 days to go before his program is completed, and he has already hit his target so This project will be funded on Tue, Oct 6 2015 12:33 PM AWST. You can still back one of his packages.

Introducing the Titainium Crocobiner

One thing I like about the Crocobiner is the abiltiy to carry it in different ways from in my pocket connected to my keychain or in my Skinth Mondo Shield or as in the photo below connected to my belt loop, I was surprised how well this worked it didn't impeed me in anyway and was there when I needed it.

Crocobiner comes in the following Metals

The Crocobiner will be made with the following metals give the consumer a wide choice, I was sent the Titanium version. I like the Mokume gane ( mixed-metal laminate with distinctive layered patterns).

Aerospace Titanium Grade 5

Titanium Grade 5 Crocobiner (very high tensile strenght and toughness)

Low carbon steel

Copper

Polished Copper Crocobiner

Brushed Copper Crocobiner

I like that you can get the Crocobiner in a number of metals and with different types of finishes from Polished, Brushed or even Patinated aged Copper, all Crocobiner are precisely waterjet cut from 5 mm metal sheets.

The Crocobiner is still at Kickstarter stage and you will find different Pledge amounts depending on the Metal you wanted.

Working with the Titanium Crocobiner

My wife went to ikea and bought my youngest a new chair for his room so I had the Leatherman Surge, Kershaw Emerson CQC 8K and the Titanium Crocobiner. Now I didn’t think that I would need the Surge but the 8K came in handy cutting open the plastic wrapping.

I actually found that I used the Crocobiner to tighten up the bolts on the underneath of the chair, it was easy to use and I had good grip of both the Crocobiner and the bolt.

So what happens once the due date for the Project passes well here is some info from the Kickstarter website

After project funded.

As soon as the project is funded I will place an order for the materials. Will need about a week for the whole process. Depending of the orders volume I will need another 3 weeks. I am planning to complete all in 5 weeks and start shipping in the beginning of December.

Risks and challenges

Material suppliers are ready to supply me with all materials I will need.
The only risk at the moment is unexpected waterjet malfunction. In this case I can use 2 other waterjet cutters. All the final finishes will be done by me in house and they should not be a problem.

PROS

* Great Shape

* Good amount of tools with in the shape

* Wide range of Material to choose from

* Good number of Backing options on Kickstarter

CONS

* First production run.

Ok so what do I think of the Crocobiner? Well I must admit I have seen loads of little Multi-Tools on Instagram and follow a number of the designers / makers, but what I like about the Crocobiner is the fact that the shape is what it is, it's not a sort of shape or a close shape but looks pretty much what it is a Crocobiner. I liked the Titanium version as it is nice and light.

Conclusion...
